London BIDs Against Crime – LBAC

PaddingtonNow BID along with other BCRP’s (Business Crime Reduction Partnerships) across London come together to work on initiatives that reduce crime in our town centres and improve  security across the capital through investment, partnerships and sharing of best practice. The London BIDs Against Crime group is chaired by Gordon Brockie from Hammersmith BID.

LBAC members come together to hear from leading security experts and forces about initiatives that can be implemented and training courses available to our staff and members.

As an example of our most recent meeting in March 2019 a representative from Bank of Englands’ Banknote Engagement and Communications team presented the new Bank of England initiative that supports business communities to spot the signs of counterfeit bank notes.

A representative from Prevent; one of the governments Counter Terrorism branches; shared with us their counter terrorism strategy for 2019 and explored ideas on how to reach a wider audience through partnership with BIDs.

The National Business Crime Centre shared their support to the LBAC with all the latest UK and London developments through various communications.

The Met Police Business Crime Hub were on hand to answer questions and add to the Counter Terrorism updates that the Met Police on working on.

Most meetings follow guest speakers with a round table discussion that talks about best practice, improving communications with our business members and sharing best practice on safeguarding our communities amongst other topics.
