Celebrate 2020 with World Food in Paddington

Paddington is chock-a-block full of authentic dishes from around the globe. Check out internationally renowned chef and fellow Londoner, Yotem Ottolenghi’s favourite Malaysian or feast on a stunning Swedish smorgasbord at Kupp.

Here is our guide to what’s on offer in Paddington:

Malaysian

Satay House

Ottolenghi lists this as one of his 7 places to eat before you die in London. Enough said. Check out the menu.

Address: 13 Sale Place, W2 1PX

Chinese

Pearl Liang

For the ultimate Cantonese feast look no further. The lobster with noodles, soft shell crab, baby squid and beef ho fan are essential. You can view the menu here.

Address: 8 Sheldon Square, W2 6EZ

The Rice Guys Food Truck

The Rice Guys offer traditional Asian dishes using sustainably sourced and nutritious ingredients. Their food truck can be regularly found in Sheldon Square at Paddington Central or along the canal at Merchant Square. The smokey pork, Hainan chicken and funghi mapo tofu are mouth-wateringly good.

Follow them on Facebook to find out where they are going to pop up next.

Indian

Mughals Indian

The lovely staff at Mughul’s Indian make this Indian stand out. It receives great reviews on Tripadvisor and has all the fragrance and aroma you would expect from a good Indian restaurant. The menu can be viewed here.

Address: 11 London Street, W2 1HL

Greek

It’s all Greek to Me

One word – Fasolakia. Velvety, tender green beans and potatoes, braised in a tomato and extra virgin olive oil sauce. It’s simple and packed full of flavour, a great vegan/gluten free main or side dish, and there is plenty more to the menu.

Address: 101 Praed Street, W2 1NT

Swedish

Kupp

The owners, originally from Stockholm, have brought over Sweden’s sensational sharing plates. The menu is un-surprisingly Nordic inspired and uses pickling, curing and smoking to create some really exquisite flavours. Check out the tempting all day menu.

Address: Unit 53 Merchant Square, W2 1AS

Italian

Bizzaro

A stalwart of the Paddington F&B community, Bizzaro offers authentic Italian food with an emphasis on the Abruzzio region. The Pesce Spada alla Mugnia, aka sword-fish with white wine, butter, lemon and parsley and the Fileto di Bue alla Rossini – the fillet steak on a bed of toast, topped with pate and brandy sauce; make this place stand out above the rest. The Tiramisu is out of this world. You can read the full tempting menu here – Bizzaro Menu.

Address: 18-22 Craven Road, W2 3PX

Middle Eastern

Massis Lebanese

Think hummus, baba ganoush and fattoush, plus juicy meat platters, skewers, kebabs and shawarma. A smart venue to enjoy with friends, colleagues or family. Menu.

Address: 9 Sheldon Square, W2 6HY

Go forth, tantalize your taste buds and transport yourself to sunnier climes with zingy lime, fresh herbs and spicy flavours from around the world, and all here on your doorstep.
