From street improvements and planting to sustainable travel and congestion busting, we have many ways to make Paddington more attractive.

Since the BID’s inception a number of schemes have been rolled out in the area:

• A new Click and Collect service to help reduce congestion and improve air quality.
• Clean Air Action Days, to improve and raise awareness of local air quality, through No Idling Campaigns and Freight and Delivery Awareness.
• Flood Mitigation installations.
• The replacement of railings and garden landscaping along Sussex Gardens.
• Improvements to Norfolk Square Gardens, including summer deckchairs and a ping pong table.
• The complete renovation of Talbot Square.
• Paving and lighting schemes in partnership with Westminster City Council on London Street and Praed Street.
• General greening and planting across the BID area.
• The installation and continued maintenance of the hanging baskets seen across the BID area.

Our efforts in improving the local landscape were recognised once again by London In Bloom in 2017. We were awarded Gold and Best in Category Awards, beating every other London BID that entered the competition. In 2016, we won a Silver Gilt for the same category, showing year on year improvement. We also monitor the BID area on a regular basis, ensuring the relevant authorities are alerted when environmental issues arise, and continually seek new opportunities to improve the look and feel of Paddington.
